Features:
The Sepik is one the great rivers in the world. It is to Papua New Guinea what the Congo is to Africa and the Amazon is to South America. The Sepik, which starts in the central mountains and flows in a loop, is navigable for almost its entire 1126 kms. There are several ways to travel on the river: by village canoes as a passenger ; by buying your own canoe and paddling it yourself; or by motorized canoe which can be chartered complete with guide. Another good way to cross the Sepik is on the Sepik Spirit.

Sepik Spirit
| This is a "floating lodge" for travelers who want the comforts of civilization while crossing the mysterious and mighty Sepik River. There are weekly 3 and 6 night live-aboard cruises into the rarely visited Chambri and Blackwater Lakes. The Middle Sepik region, known as New Guinea's "cultural treasure house," is prolific with traditional wood carvings of the Iatmul people. | | |
