The third largest island in the Indonesian Archipelago, Sumatra is rich in natural beauty and culture. The landscape is diverse with sprawling plantations, terraced rice fields and rugged mountains. Some highlights are Lake Toba, one of the deepest volcanic lakes in the world, and Bukit Lawang where the orangutan rehabilitation center is located. Sumatra is a prime destination for jungle treks and river rafting. The breakers around Nias Island attract surfers.

| Itinerary Highlights: |

| DAY 1-Padang to Siberut | In the early evening, your guide will accompany you to Padang's Maura Harbor where you'll embark on an eight hour ferry ride to Siberut Island. Travel to and from Siberut is for those who truly seek adventure, as modern amenities are not in abundance on the island. Dinner will be provided on board.
| | DAY 2-Siberut | You will arrive in Maura Siberut early this morning. You will then cruise on a motorized riverboat to Madobat, Ugai, or Mototonan village depending on the river's condition, where you can experience the rich traditional culture of the Sakkudai people. A picnic lunch will be provided during your trip and that evening you will dine with the people of Siberut in one of their native homes.
| | DAY 3-Siberut | After breakfast you will embark on a full day expedition of Siberut, experiencing different facets of the native culture from the construction of hunting arrows and canoes to the ornamental painting of tattoos. Lunch will be provided during your excursion and dinner will be served on your return to the lodge. That evening the locals will stage a traditional dance to bid you good night.
| | DAY 4-Siberut | After breakfast, you'll embark on a dugout river canoe back to Maura Siberut. A picnic lunch will be provided during your journey, and dinner will be served at your lodge that evening.
| | DAY 5-Siberut to Padang | A representative will accompany you to the pier at Maura Siberut, where you'll board a ferry sailing back to Padang. Lunch and dinner will be served on board.
| | DAY 6-Padang | You'll arrive in Padang in the morning, where a representative will accompany you to your hotel or the airport, wherever your future travel plans may take you.
