Indonesia, the largest island nation in the world, encompasses thousands of islands, each with its own culture and compelling natural beauty. Visitors enjoy a wide array of intriguing sights from lowland swamps and immense volcanoes to crater lakes and vibrant rainforests, from dramatic waterfalls and meandering rivers to exquisite beaches and terraced rice paddies. Most visitors to Bali will spend some time in either Nusa Dua, Kuta Beach or Sanur. Nusa Dua is an exclusive resort area with a selection of world-class, self-contained luxury hotels set on quiet stretches of beach. Kuta Beach, which fronts a gentle curve of coastline, is renowned for sun, surf, beautiful sunsets, great open air restaurants, shopping and lively nightlife. Sanur is a well established resort area with a lovely beach protected by a reef, and the lagoon offers safe swimming year round. Sanur is set among lush tropical gardens with numerous hotels which vary from boutique to five star.
